Using the experience and expertise gained from many years handling complex and disputed insurance claims, Accord Solution has become involved in the investigation and resolution of a whole range of industrial, commercial and construction related disputes, either informally advising a client or taking part in a formal process under litigation or ADR procedures.

Past engagements

Hired by a Japanese MNC to investigate project delays and cost over-runs and a dispute with the project owners following installation of a 15,000 km fibre optic cable system. After 6 months of investigation we concluded settlement of a substantial marine cargo insurance claim (US$25m) and resolved a dispute with the project owners (US$75m).

Hired by a Singapore law firm to advise and prepare an expert report on a company valuation in an Oil & Gas related US$70m dispute which proceeded to litigation in the Singapore court.

Hired by a Malaysian MNC to validate quantum of claim in a SIAC arbitration in a dispute with an Indonesian MNC. Final award to our client was US$228m plus interest, based on our validated and evidenced claim without any deduction.

Provided resources as part of a team investigating a claim for loss of sales on a sub-sea fibre-optic cable system in a dispute between two Indian MNCs which went to the ICC tribunal in The Hague. The expert report prepared by the team helped the arbitration panel to view objectively the claim pursued against our client of US$488m and to award a much reduced settlement of US$18m.

Participated in FCPA and other fraud investigations of MNCs.

Carried out due diligence and background financial investigations of individuals and companies involved in disputes, litigation and as parties in M&A transactions.

Experienced in litigation with track records of civil litigation process and expert evidence in the UK, USA and Singapore.

Managed both informal and formal mediation for clients and well as providing expert opinion.

Submitted Expert reports in formal arbitration proceedings under ICC and SIAC rules and taken part in arbitrations in Thailand, Malaysia.
